Urban Foodlink

Tammy Morales has been putting her 15 years of experience in community development and food systems management to work in neighborhoods throughout Seattle, providing seasoned guidance on food project planning. She is intimately familiar with regional food system issues — and believes that fresh, healthful foods should be easily available to everyone.

Urban Food Link is the result of Tammy’s experience working with community members, policy makers and small businesses to help provide and improve neighborhood access to good food. As a member of the Acting Food Policy Council of Seattle-King County for the past five years, she has coordinated food policy development and advocacy, built collaborative relationships between organizations and local jurisdictions, and guided the development of a strategic plan for a regional food policy council.

Tammy currently serves as an advisor to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s King County Food & Fitness initiative, where she is a member of the Healthy Retail Strategy team. She has worked with United Way King County to assess food security issues in north King County and with Sustainable Seattle to study the economic impact of local food purchases.

Tammy’s work with these and other organizations has earned her a solid reputation as a food systems leader in the Puget Sound region, where she continues to advise policy makers at the local, county and regional levels.
