New HUFED Center to Fund Food Enterprise
The Wallace Center was recently selected to house the USDA’s Healthy Urban Food Enterprise Development Center. The purpose of the new Center is to provide grants and technical assistance to communities across the country that are looking to improve access to healthy food. The goal is to improve both economic development opportunities and to ensure that under-served communities have better options when it comes to making healthy food choices. The Center is funded through the USDA’s National Institute for Food and Agriculture and is expected to release RFPs early in the new year. Stay tuned!
