Urban Food Link’s Tammy Morales was invited to participate in the Community Indicators Consortium 2009 International Conference in early October. The panel discussion focused on the value of the B-Sustainable Community Indicators project, a joint venture between EcoPraxis and Sustainable Seattle. Tammy shared her experience in helping identify indicators for a sustainable regional food system and discussed some of the challenges involved. She also shared her view that the tool is incredibly powerful and has the potential to begin a dialogue with policy makers by offering them sound data on which to base policy changes.
