Tammy Morales has been elected as the newest board member of CFSC, an organization dedicated to building strong, sustainable, local and regional food systems. The coalition announced the new board members at their 2009 Annual Conference, From Commodity to Community: Food Politics and Projects in the Heartland. This North American coalition offers training, networking, and advocacy to make real change to the current food system. CFSC has completed a new strategic plan and will be focusing efforts on 8 key goals, including building a strong political voice for community food security and increasing the capacity of community food initiatives to have lasting impact on how our food is produced. Tammy is honored to be part of this leading organization and looks forward to highlighting the success of community-based food initiatives in the Pacific Northwest!
